The Reds boss has come under pressure recently, following a poor run of results which saw them eliminated from both the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Klopp's charges have only won one of their last seven games in all competitions and have slipped to fifth place in the standings, after heading into 2017 sitting second from the top. The German tactician now seems to have shifted his expectations towards a top-four finish.
“Qualifying for the Champions League would be a big success, 100%,” Klopp told BBC Sport.
“Qualifying for the Europa League, I'm not sure that I could sell it as success. But it would be okay. It would be a step in the right direction.
“But it's too early to say what would be a success because we have to learn from the last games very quickly.
“First of all we have to make sure we are really good against Arsenal. If we want to stay in this region of the table then we need to bounce back against Arsenal.
“What's the alternative? The alternative is that until now they were doing better against the big teams and now they don't even do that any more.
“We qhave no alternative. We have to deliver. We have to show a reaction. Hopefully we can.”
